Our camp will meet Monday through Friday for one week. Parents are
invited to attend an informal end-of-camp performance on Fridays.
DATES & CLASS TIMES:

June 27-July 2, M-F 9:00 am -12:00 pm
July 19-23, M-F, 12:30 pm -3:30 pm
REGISTRATION:
$185 for 5 day camp

Eligibility:
Children must be 8 years of age or older on or before June 21, 2010 to
attend camp.
PERCUSSION CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Learn to properly play many percussion
instruments in our ensemble. Techniques
will be learned on some/all of the following:
hand drums, conga drums, bongo drums,
Djembe, rattles, shakers, African bells,
drum set, snare drum, tom toms, cymbals,
bass drum, xylophone, marimba, orchestra
bells, tambourine, triangle, castanets,
cymbals and other accessory instruments.
Games will be included
to enhance understanding of how to play, read and write rhythms, and
apply them to the instruments. Daily warm ups will include hand and feet
coordination exercises, and several song forms will be used to demonstrate
all of the above. All percussion instruments will be provided.
CHOIR CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Incorporating vocal warm ups, students will learn/practice vocal
technique that supports a healthy and effective singing voice. They will
become versed in breathing, vowel and consonant resonation/articulation,
and expression, all the while gaining exposure to music of various styles.
Students will sing as a group and have opportunities for solos. Students
will learn and perform several songs including percussion parts.
