Before having become a Music Together teacher last year, Amy French attended many Music Together sessions with her three year old, Isabella. Amy studied piano from seven years of age, and as an adult she completed the Music Teacher's Association music theory program; pursued piano, theory and voice lessons at Pomona College; performed in rock and jazz bands; and toured in the US and Europe as a background vocalist. Having studied opera, Amy has performed in recitals and taken lead roles in musical theater for 13 years at Bay Area community theaters. As a sideline to her career as a city planner, Amy has offered children’s voice and piano instruction. (During the week, Amy manages the City of Palo Alto's Current Planning division.) Having studied different dance forms, capoeira and gymnastics, Amy loves engaging in creative dance at home with Isabella as they listen to the Music Together CDs.
